High quality and very quiet!

I have had this for about several years. Yamaha EF2000iS is a high-quality portable generator, well-designed. I chosed this over the Honda Eu2000i because this is 2-pounds lighters and has a fuel gage. Specifications are very close, and it seems that they are both tie. The Yamaha EF2000iS is more quiet in eco throttle but the Honda Eu2000i is more quiet at full power. Before buying EF2000iS, I had purchased a Honeywell inverter generator from Costco which I returned, because it is noisy and I am not impressed. While the price is a big deal, you get what you pay for with this portable generator. - Trisailor T.

Very quiet and CARB compliant...

Yamaha EF2000iS is very quiet and the engine runs very smooth. However, it does not include oil and the angle of the oil fill hole is almost horizontal, making it a bit hard to fill even with a funnel. To compensate this, they put a little drip tray below the opening so it won’t go anywhere. I also love the gas gauge. Overal, I am pleased with this portable generator. Works great at a good price than Honda...

Yamaha EF2000iS portable generator has seen a lot of use since I purchased this, lighting several lights, charging the battery of our RV, and running the refrigerator, all at the same time. We have used this to power up portable equipment like hedge trimmers and electric chain saw when there is a power outage. I love this generator, it’s nice and very quiet. However, it is not powerful enough to run a microwave and air conditioner. But it operates everything else perfectly. Overall, I have no complaints about this generator. Kudos! - Ethosian F.
